Education

Jason graduated with honors from Boise State University, earning both his bachelor's and master’s degrees in nursing. His academic achievements underline his dedication to geriatric care and the foundation of his expertise in the field.

Healthcare Career Highlights

Jason's healthcare journey began in 2014 at St Luke’s in Boise, Idaho, where he worked in the ICU with an incredible team of providers and support staff. In 2019 he joined an independent practice where he managed care for clients with chronic conditions. He returned to St Luke’s in 2021, eventually specializing in in-patient palliative care.

Jason joined Pathway Geriatrics in 2023, attracted by the team's focus on palliative care and the opportunity to contribute to an underserved community of Adult Family Homes and Assisted Living facilities.

Musical Military Background

Before venturing into healthcare, Jason's life encompassed music and military service. He spent eight years in the US Army Band's 82nd Airborne Division. In addition to playing the saxophone professionally for the army, Jason has extensive airborne military training. His musical talent extends to playing the saxophone, piano, and guitar.

Jason's care philosophy centers on palliative principles, prioritizing patients' comfort, and quality of life. With a commitment to reducing medications and following evidence-based practices, he prioritizes personalized care that aligns with his clients’ needs.

Personal Values and Interests

Jason's nomadic nature has led him from coast to coast, and beyond. Originally from Maryland, he has spent time in Philadelphia, Boise, Seattle/Tacoma, Seoul Korea, and more. His transition from the army to nursing in 2010, influenced by family and the desire for selfless service, speaks to his commitment to serving his community. Now based in Mukilteo, WA, with his wife and two daughters, Jason balances his professional dedication with outdoor activities like mountain biking, running, and camping.
